Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a shooting in Dublin last night. 

A man in his 30's was shot several times near his home in Parslickstown Green in Mulhuddart, just after 8pm. He is believed to be from the area.

He was rushed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown were he remains in a serious condition. 

The scene has been sealed off and gardaí are expected to carry out a forensic examination of the area later today.
