A 26-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of 90-year-old Paddy Lyons.
The 90-year-old was found dead at his home in Ballysaggart, near Lismore last Saturday evening.
Ross Outram - from Clonmel in Co Tipperary - made no reply when the charge was put to him.
He was granted free legal aid after his solicitor told the court his only source of income was social welfare.
