US Attorney General Jeff Sessions will testify in a public hearing tomorrow in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Sessions supposedly requested the open setting because "he believes it is important for the American people to hear the truth directly from him," according to the committee's chairman.

Sessions will face questions about his contacts with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. during the presidential campaign.

He recused himself in March from a federal investigation into contacts between Russia and Trump’s presidential campaign after acknowledging that he had met twice last year with the ambassador.

He told lawmakers previously at his January confirmation hearing that he had not met with Russians during the campaign.

Former FBI director James Comey also testified in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee, that was shown to the public.

He was questioned over his claim that President Trump asked him to 'let go' of the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Comey said he believes the Russia investigation was a reason for his firing "because I've seen the president say so".

When he was asked if Trump had colluded with the Russians, he said he couldn't answer in a open setting.
