The Immigrant Council of Ireland says refugees found in a container in Wexford over the weekend should be treated with humanity by authorities.
The Garda Immigration Bureau is investigating after nine refugees were found in the back of a truck on Saturday.
The lorry had disembarked from a ferry from France at Rosslare Europort.
The nine adult men were all taken to University Hospital Waterford to be checked, but they are not believed to be injured.
It is not yet known where the men are from.
A spokesperson for the Immigrant Council says the discovery is the direct result of a political failure to deal with the crises.
