Keeping with tradition, as in previous years a host of musicians took to Grafton Street this Christmas Eve.

Glenn Hansard was joined by Hozier, members of The Coronas, Gavin James and Damien Rice, along with a number of other musicians.

Money raised from the event is being given to the two homeless charities, The Peter McVerry Trust and Dublin Simon Community.

In past years, a host of well-known musicians including Bono,The Script, Mundy, Paddy Casey and Liam O’Maonlai have busked on Grafton Street.

Glen Hansard is one of the founders of the Home Sweet Home campaign along with musicians Christy Moore, Hozier, Damien Dempsey, Liam O Maonlaí and director Jim Sheridan.

Dozens of homeless people have been sleeping at the vacant Dublin city centre office block, Apollo House. Home Sweet Home took over the building last week in an attempt to combat the current homelessness crisis.
