Gardaí are investigating an armed cash-in-transit robbery in County Dublin this afternoon.

The robbery took place as a security guard was attempting to make a cash delivery to a bank on Main Street in Lucan this morning.

Gardaí said a man armed with a handgun approached the security guard at around 12:20pm and forced him to hand over a cashbox.
