Gardaí are investigating after a 10-week-old girl was hospitalised with serious injuries in County Louth.

The little girl was removed to a local hospital on Monday and was later transferred to a Dublin hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

A garda spokesperson said the circumstances around how the child received her injuries is now the subject of a garda investigation.
