The poll of 1,006 voters was taken between last Thursday and yesterday, with sampling finishing just before last night's seven-way TV debate.

Fine Gael support continues its downward trend, it is at 26% - down two points compared to a similar poll four days previously published in The Sunday Business Post.

It also means Fine Gael has now dropped five percentage points since the campaign formally began two weeks ago.

Labour support is at 9% - one point higher than the weekend, and one point lower than when the election began.

Fianna Fail is up one to 19% - two higher than the start - while a three-point bump for Sinn Féin in Sunday's poll has disappeared, the party falling back to 17%.

Independents are on 18%, including the Independent Alliance - who are now on 5%.

The Greens now stand on 4%, with the Social Democrats on 3%, and the Triple-A/People Before Profit and Renua are each on 2%.

Red C Poll Results

Fine Gael - 26%

Fianna Fail - 19%

Sinn Fein - 17%

Labour  - 9%

Independents/Other - 29%
