Gardai have arrested a man is his early 30s this evening in Wexford and he is currently detained in garda custody.

Gardaí also confirmed this evening that human remains found in the Wicklow Mountains, belong to one person, an adult female.

Earlier, a fifth set of remains, have been found in the Wicklow Mountains. Officers uncovered the remains near Glenmacnass Waterfall after a torso was discovered in the area last weekend.

Yesterday Gardai confirmed that a third set of remains had been found in the Wicklow Mountains. 

However, at this stage they still don’t know who the body parts belong to.

Superintendent Pat Ward is leading the investigation.
