Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, the directors behind arguably the most talked about documentary of all time, are taking on one of the biggest companies in the world for their next project.

The pair will director and co-write the adaptation of a Huffington Post article, "America's Most Admired Lawbreakers", an investigation into the Johnson & Johnson scandal which resulted in several billion dollar lawsuits.

Johnson & Johnson and some of it's subsidiary companies were found guilty of downplaying several severe side-effects to one of their drugs, Risperdral, which was sold primarily to children and the elderly.

However, Risperdral was sold by the company as a way to tackle problems such as dementia in seniors and attention deficit disorder in young children, when in fact the drug had been primarily manufactured to counter the effects of severe psychotic disorders.

This is not the only time that the company have faced legal issues with the products, as they recently settled a court case when their talcum powder was found to have caused cancer in users.

While the directing pair spent over a decade putting together Making A Murderer, which ultimately became an unparalleled success when it premiered on Netflix, there is no set timeframe for their follow-up, or how it might effect the already mooted season two of that documentary.

Ricciardi and Demos will be working with George Clooney’s production company Smokehouse Pictures and Sonar Entertainment on this new project, with no confirmation yet as to whether it may be another Netflix-style multi-part documentary, or one-off feature film.
