Former presidential candidate Hilary Clinton took a jab at President Donald Trump during a recent speech at her old college.

Comparing the current president to former President Richard Nixon during a commencement speech at Wellesley College, she said: 

“We were furious about the past presidential election of a man whose presidency would eventually end in disgrace with his impeachment for obstruction of justice."

Pausing for the crowd's laughter, she then clarifed she was speaking about Nixon: "After firing the person heading the investigation into him at the Department of Justice.”

Clinton was referencing the ongoing FBI investigation into alleged ties between members of Trump's campaign and Russians that attempted to hack the US presidential election.

Earlier in the month, Trump fired James Comey, who was leading the investigation. The DOJ has since appointed a special prosecutor to lead the ongoing investigation into Russian influence on the election as well as possible Trump connections.

In 1973, Nixon ordered the attorney general to fire a special prosecutor who was looking into taped conversations recorded in the Oval Office as part of the Watergate scandal. Nixon would eventually resign as president when faced with likely impeachment for his actions, including abusing his executive power in seeking to influence the DOJ.

In an effort to end on a more positive note, Clinton said:

“Here’s a what I want you to know. We got through that tumultuous time and once again we began to thrive as out society changed laws,” she said about the aftermath of the Nixon White House.
