There's been many times over the years that I have signed up to newsletters to access special offers or created accounts to shop online. It's only recently, however, that I've started to wonder about how many sites and services store my details online. 

There is a new site that can pull all of this information together for you and help manage your online persona. Deseat.me requires users to log in with their Gmail address, before pulling the data together. 

Inserting my Gmail address brought up some 41 sites, with whom I had accounts. Of those 41, I kept 4. 

Wille Dahlbo and Linus Unnebäck designed the site as a place for people to "clean up your internet presence".  

Dahlbo and Unnebäck said they take the privacy of users seriously and that the program runs on the user's computer, rather than their servers. 

"So basically the only thing you're telling us is what accounts you want to delete. That's it," they said. The website uses Google's security protocol, which means it doesn't gain access to users' log in information, they added.  

At present, it is only compatible with Gmail addresses, but that could change in the near future.
