Attorney General Loretta Lynch has stated that she is ready to accept the recommendations of the FBI and the Department of Justice on Hillary Clinton's email case. 

In 2015, it was revealed that Clinton had been using a private email server rather than State Department accounts for official communications, and had sent a number of mails that were later marked as classified. 

This lead to questions and an eventual investigation over whether or not federal laws and regulations regarding record keeping had been contravened by Clinton's actions. 

Speaking on Friday at the Aspen Ideas Festival, Lynch said she will fully accept the recommendations made by the investigating bodies:

"The recommendations will be reviewed by career supervisors in the Department of Justice and in the FBI, and by the FBI director, and then as is the common process, they present it to me and I fully expect to accept their recommendations," said Lynch.

Lynch further stated that she regretted holding a meeting with President Bill Clinton while the investigation was still ongoing. The two had an impromptu conversation aboard a private plane at an airport in Phoenix, in which Lynch claims there was no mention of the investigation.

However, she noted that "the most important thing for me as Attorney General is the integrity of this Department of Justice. And the fact that the meeting I had is now casting a shadow over how people will view that work is something that I take seriously and deeply and painfully."

Lynch failed top provide a timeline for the results of the investigation, saying that those involved were "working on it to make sure they're as thorough as they can be, that they have covered every angle, that they have looked at every issue [...] and I could not be more proud to present that work to the American people when this matter is resolved and we can let people know the conclusion to this investigation."
