A Northern Ireland football fan who died after falling from a promenade in Nice has been named locally as Darren Rodgers from Ballymena.
The 25-year-old fell eight metres from a seafront promenade onto a pebble beach at around 2am this morning.
He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman said: "We are aware that a man from Northern Ireland aged in his 20s has died in Nice, France, this morning. There are no further details of the actual incident that the PSNI can confirm.
"As this occurred in France, this is a matter for the French authorities."
Nice's Promenade des Anglais is famed as a landmark of the city and runs for some four miles. Below it lies a rocky pebble beach.
Northern Ireland captain Steven Davis tweeted his condolences:

Thousands of supporters descended on the city to watch Northern Ireland's opening game of Euro 2016.
The team was beaten 1-0 by Poland.
