Liam Neeson is clearly as imposing off-screen as he in on – he just convinced the co-founder of the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) to change his profile’s photograph.

Speaking to the American newspaper USA Today, the Ballymena-born actor says he could not stand the image the popular website was using for his page, and that he had to do something about it.

So the Taken star approached the IMDb cofounder Col Needham during the premiere of his latest movie, A Walk Among the Tombstones, and outright asked him to change it.

“He’s a lovely guy, and I told him I do use the site,” Neeson told the newspaper.

“I said, ‘Do me a favour, just get rid of that f****** photograph of Liam Neeson you have. Please get rid of it,” the Schindler’s List-star said to USA Today.

Whatever was wrong with the photo, you can no longer tell; Needham reportedly vowed to changed it for Neeson there and then.

But reports say the Northern Irish actor didn’t like how he was rushing in the picture, nor how is hair looked.

“You look as if you’ve escaped from some institution,” he said.

Now if you search for Liam Neeson on the IMDb website, you’ll find a new image of him, taking by a professional photographer in a portrait studio.

On IMDb profile photos, Neeson says he’s not the only Hollywood star who loathes their image; his Michael Collins co-star Alan Rickman used to moan to Neeson that his picture was taken from his role in the sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest – where he plays an actor playing an alien, complete with over-the-top head make-up and prostheses.

Neeson used rather Neeson language to describe searching for Rickman online: “When you punched him up, his photograph for many years was the character’s head.”

“This big sort of conehead,” the actor added, laughing.
