The Irish ambassador to Turkey has confirmed that an Irish-Algerian family were injured in a suicide attack in Turkey today.
Five people died in the blast at a shopping district in Istanbul - three Israelis and two Iranians.
Another 36 people were injured in the blast.
This latest suicide bomb attack happened near a government building on Istiklal Street.
Al Jazeera Turkey published a Turkish ministry of health document saying the injured included Irish, Icelandic, German, Iranian and Israeli citizens.
In the past hour the Irish Ambassador in Turkey, Brendan Ward, confirmed that an Irish-Algerian family were injured in the explosion - two parents and three children. They were in Istanbul on a short holiday visit.
They are being treated for their injuries in hospital and are expected to be discharged and are due to leave Istanbul on a flight tonight.
In a statement, the outgoing Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan expressed his "horror and sadness" at the bomb attack and appealed to anyone with concerns for Irish citizens in Turkey to call 01-408-2000, or the Irish Embassy in Ankara.
No-one has admitted carrying out the attack, however the Turkish government has blamed Kurdish militants for previous attacks.
