US President Donald Trump is pledging $1m in personal funds to Harvey storm relief efforts, the White House says.
The move follows similar pledges from a number of entertainment stars.
President Trump is also calling on reporters to help him decide which specific organisation to give it to, according to the White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders:
The tropical storm has killed at least 35 people and forced 32,000 into shelters since Friday.
Amongst the dead was a family of six whose van was swept off a Houston bridge during the storm.
Harvey's floodwaters have heavily damaged tens of thousands of homes across Texas, causing billions of dollars in damage.
The storm is now threatening the region near the Texas-Louisiana state line.
On Tuesday, President Trump visited affected areas in Corpus Christi, Texas, telling rescue workers the flooding was of "epic proportion."
A day later, he tweeted: "After witnessing first-hand the horror & devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, my heart goes out even more so to the great people of Texas!"
