It's been a hectic opening few weeks to the season for Spurs who have sold their best player for a World record fee to Real Madrid but also added to the squad significantly with Paulinho from Corinthians , Roberto Soldado from Valencia , Etienne Capoue from Toulouse, Erik Lamela from Roma and Christian Eriksen from Ajax amongst others.

On the pitch results have been mixed , although they easily qualified for the Europa league group stage they were beaten by Arsenal in last weeks North London derby however before that they beat Crystal Palace and Swansea.

Ex Ireland winger Tony Galvin played for the club between 1981 and 1987 but his post playing days weren’t the norm for a footballer with Galvin ending up in the British civil service where he put his Russian studies to goods use.
