A teenage girl is in a critical condition in hospital after being rescued from the water off Hook Head in Co Wexford.
Four teenagers were swept into the water at around 2pm this afternoon.
Four teenagers were swept into the water - with two managing to swim back to shore and two being airlifted to hospital by the Waterford based Rescue 117 helicopter.
It's understood the girl was unconcious when pulled from the water and she is said to be in a serious condition in University Hospital Waterford.
A boy was also airlifted to the hospital but is thought to have only minor injuries.
Neville Murphy is a Winchman on board the Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 117, and says the weather conditions were difficult at the time.
