While all smartphone owners know they are guilty of using their devices while left to their own devices atop of a toilet bowl, now there is an app designed to connect people with others in a similar situation.
Pooductive, created by two student developers, is a new social network for men and women who are at a loss of what to do when answering nature’s call.
The iPhone app, which is free to download, has risen like a phoenix from the ashes of a disastrous Kickstarter campaign that almost saw the idea flushed down the toilet. Pooductive allows users to connect with others in peer-to-peer or group chats, depending on your location.
Users have the option to connect with other people in their own home town and cities, or in foreign countries, where they can discuss local customs and excremental norms.
"The fact that there is only little to do whilst tending to ‘number two’ is common knowledge, and truly a first world problem," the developers write on the app’s website.

"Think of it as a magical place where people from around the globe can anonymously meet to enjoy their time of zen, peace and tranquility together, by conversing, philosophizing and sharing ideas with each other. You could simply call it a messaging app if you wanted to, but it’s so much more."
Pooductive and its creators, who spoke to Sean Moncrieff today, isn’t just about connecting people. It’s also about raising awareness. Rhys Gordon, one of the app’s founders, says that he hopes it will help to make a positive change in the world by partnering with charities that promote sanitation and clean water in developing countries.
Still can't believe they didn't call it 'Shatroulette'.
