Gardaí appeal for witnesses after man's body discovered at flat in Dublin

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following the discovery of a man's body at a flat in Dublin.

Officers were called to an incident at the flat on South Circular Road - close to the junction with Bloomfield Avenue, Dublin 8 - this afternoon.

An injured man - aged in his 20s - was discovered on the road close to the scene.

He is being treated at St James' Hospital with injuries that are not life threatening.

When gardaí searched the flat, they discovered the body of a man - an Irish national in his 20s.

A post mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow.

A third man, also in his 20s, was seen leaving the house at about 3.20pm. This man is described as 5'6'', of thin build and wearing a dark top which may have been blood-stained.

Gardaí are appealing for the man to contact them.

They are also calling on anybody was in the South Circular Road/Bloomfield Avenue this afternoon between 3pm and 4pm or anybody with information to contact Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 666 9400.
