The Dublin Region Homeless Executive has offered its condolences to the families and friends of two homeless people who have been found dead in Kildare and Dublin.
The executive said the case of a woman found at her emergency accommodation in a hotel in Leixlip was particularly poignant.
Gardaí are treating the death as a personal tragedy.
A DRHE spokesperson said she had recently accepted an offer of social housing from South Dublin County Council.
The body also says homeless services had been in contact with a man found dead on Suffolk Street in Dublin this morning.
It is understood the man – aged in his 50s – had been sleeping rough in the city. The DRHE said efforts had been made to give him access to accommodation and relevant supports.
He was discovered at around 4am on Friday morning and was taken to St James’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The coroner has been notified - however gardaí have said they do not suspect foul play.
