Gardaí are questioning two men in connection with the shooting dead of Eddie Hutch.
Hutch, a brother of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch, was shot dead on Poplar Row in the North Strand area of the city on February 8th.
The 58-year-old taxi driver was gunned down at his home in apparent retaliation for the Regency Hotel attack. He was not thought to have been involved in gangland activity.
One suspect in his death, a man in his 30s, was arrested in the capital yesterday as part an investigation into the killing.
He is being held under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Mountjoy Garda Station, where he can be detained for up to seven days.
A second man, aged in his late 20s, was arrested in the Dublin area yesterday evening and detained under the same legislation at Bridewell Garda Station.
