The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has criticised a deal between Iran and six world powers over Iran's nuclear programme.

Mr Netanyahu told US President Barack Obama the framework agreement, reached after eight days of marathon talks in Switzerland, threatens the survival of Israel.

Spokesperson for Mr Netanyahu, Mark Regev, has told CNN that it is important to look at what is left out of the deal too.

But most world leaders have welcomed the deal, and the Mr Obama has described it as 'historic'.

Following talks with the United States, Iran, European Union and four other major powers in Lausanne, Switzerland an outline agreement was reached yesterday. The deal with be finalised by June 30th.

Iran has agreed that most of its enriched uranium will be diluted or shipped abroad, while a reactor in the city of Arak will now be restricted.

Diplomatic editor with The Guardian, Julian Borger, told Newstalk Breakfast they still have to get this deal over the line.

But if passed, it could mean big things for the Iranian economy.
