British company Fanmoji is developing an emoji smartphone app dedicated to Ireland.

They have previously released stickers targeted at Britain, Wales and Scotland, but have now set their sights on the Emerald Isle.

95% of the emoji stickers are ready, but the company is asking the public to vote for the final few locations, phrases and people that should make the first release of Irishmoji.

So far they have included castles, crosses, bridges and islands but are asking people to choose between the Cliffs of Moher, The Rock of Cashel and Glendalough.

"Deadly buzz" and "scarlet" have made the cut of key Irish phrases, but the public can have their say on the inclusion of "eejit", "state of ye", or "bad dose".

The developers also need help to choose famous Irish people and a suitable "item of matchday attire" to please Irish fans.

Votes can be cast on their website and the poll will be open from today until May 15th. The app is due for release approximately two weeks after the polls close.
