Clare born actress Simone Kirby, who played Oonagh in Ken Loach’s recent film Jimmy’s Hall, is currently shooting scenes for the upcoming Alice in Wonderland sequel Through the Looking Glass.
Simone will play the Mad Hatters mother, starring opposite the inimitable Johnny Depp.
While Simone is under contract to not give any of the plot away, she did give The Picture Show's Philip Molloy a taste of what’s to come:

Meanwhile, Simone will also appear alongside fellow Irishman Cillian Murphy in the second series of BBC’s period, gangster drama Peaky Blinders. Simone describes her character as ‘not very nice” and “part of an IRA gang” in 1920’s Birmingham.
