The head of the investigation team searching for the so-called 'Disappeared' says they are still searching for the remains of six victims.

Geoff Knupfer says the remains of ten people have so far been found, and has appealed for anyone with information on the other six victims to come forward.

The fresh appeal follows the discovery of remains - believed to be those of Brendan Megraw - in a bog in Kells, Co Meath yesterday.

The remains have yet to be formally identified, but a post mortem is expected to be carried out today.

The area of bogland in Oristown had already been examined on three other occasions in the search for Megraw - the last time in 2010.

23-year-old Brendan Megraw was abducted, murdered and secretly buried in 1978 by the IRA, who claimed that he admitted to being a British uncover agent.

Speaking to Jonathan Healy on Newstalk Lunchtime yesterday, Brendan's brother Sean said he believes the remains found in Co Meath are those of his brother.

Geoff Knupfer, head of the investigation team with the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains, told Newstalk Breakfast more than 15 years of research led to yesterday's discovery.

He is urging anyone with information on the remaining six people, still missing, to come forward:
