The head of the Web Summit has apologised to its 22,000 delegates after a it suffered a massive wifi outage this morning.
The internet issues have overshadowed the first day of the Summit which is now the largest event of its kind in Europe.
Today’s speakers include Hollywood actress Eva Longoria - while the Taoiseach will open the Nasdaq stock exchange from the Summit floor later.
Over 13,000 hotel rooms have been booked between 603 speakers, over 1,000 journalists and 22,000 people from around the world who are attending the Summit, the largest tech event in Europe.
The Summit is now a massive operation but it has not been without its issues. Many delegates have complained about the Web Summit’s distinct lack of working wifi.
CEO Paddy Cosgrave has taken to the stage to ask those having problems to show their hands.
