Irish Apple employees are reported to have received offers of up to €20,000 to sell their login details.

Business Insider reports to have spoken with Apple employees, under the condition of anonymity, who have been contacted by people trying to buy their information.

"You'd be surprised how many people get on to us, just random Apple employees ... You get emails offering you thousands to get a password to get access to Apple," one source told the website.

"I could sell my Apple ID login information online for €20,000 (£15,000 / $23,000) tomorrow. That’s how much people are trying," the employee continued.

"They look for someone who has jumped diagonally into a junior managerial position, so not a lifer working their way up, and not a lifer who has been there a long time," a former Apple employee added.

They said that the company launched a "Grow Your Own" scheme to create its own managers to counter this problem.

It is unclear what information the groups or individuals sending these messages are trying to access.
