Gardaí are investigating a hit and run incident in Tuam, Co Galway.

An 84-year-old man is in a critical but stable condition after a car hit him last Wednesday at around 5pm while he was walking on the Dunmore to Clonberne road.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on that stretch of road between 4.30pm and 5pm on the 28th.
