Gardaí in West Cork are investigating the death of a fisherman who died on board a trawler in Bantry.
The Lithuanian man - in his early thirties - was pronounced dead after paramedics were called to the fishing vessel by a crewman at around 10.30 last night.
It is understood there were no major trauma injuries to the man and no sign of a struggle or disturbance at the scene.
Gardaí have cordoned off the Irish-registered vessel.
It is expected Assistant State Pathologist, Dr Margaret Bolster will carry out a post-mortem at Cork University Hospital this afternoon.
Toxicology tests are also due be carried out.
Gardaí say the results of the examination will determine the direction of their inquiries.
The man had reportedly been working in the west Cork area for several years.
