Luas operator Transdev says it is willing to go back to talks with drivers to negotiate a pay deal.
Tram drivers are on strike for an 11th day in the ongoing dispute over pay.
The all-day strike is expected to impact around 90,000 people, with several more days of action planned for this month and next.
Yesterday evening, drivers rescheduled some of their strikes so that they would not affect secondary school students sitting their state exams.
Managing Director at Transdev Gerry Madden, says SIPTU and its members need to bring some new ideas to the table.
He says "drivers so far in our engagements have not been able to come across with anything that would be reasonable", and any proposals have "to be meaningful"
The union representing drivers says they are open to compromise on their demands.
SIPTU's Owen Reidy is urging Transdev to return to the talks table.
He says his members want to do a deal, and that "both sides have to share some responsibility":
Mark Gleeson of Rail Users Ireland says commuters have had enough as the 11th strike day gets underway.
"This has been ongoing for many, many weeks. There's no resolution in sight," he said.
