10 people have been killed and at least 20 injured following the explosion of a car bomb in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.

According to the Associated Press, the bomb detonated near a market and shops in the city's Qahira neighborhood.

A number of cars and shops were burnt.

Medical officials in a nearby hospital confirmed the casualty figures under anonymity.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
