Dublin was also named one of the best cities in the world
Aer Lingus has been named as one of the top airlines for a short-haul holiday.
Readers of Condé Nast Traveller magazine put the carrier 7th out of 10.
British Airways topped the list, followed by Swiss International, Lufthansa and EasyJet.
In terms of long-haul travel, British Airways again topped the poll.
This was followed by Emirates, Qatar Airways and Virgin Atlantic - with Singapore Airlines rounding out the Top 5.
While Emirates took the number one spot for airlines for a business trip.
Air Berlin was seen as the most punctual and Swiss International Air Lines had the most attentive service.
But the magazine says British Airways was this year's favourite - mainly because of its airport lounges, range of routes and loyalty reward schemes.
That airline also came out second for those wanting to get down to business, just ahead of Qatar - which was recognised for its clock-watching punctuality.
As part of its 2017 Readers' Travel Awards, Dublin was also named 16th best city in the world.
