Gardaí in Waterford are due to announce details of an investigation into a “suspicious” death in Ballysaggart, Lismore yesterday.

A 90-year-old man was found dead at his home at around 5pm yesterday evening after emergency services were called.

The scene has been preserved and investigating officers have asked for the assistance of the Garda Technical Bureau.

The body has been removed from the scene this evening and taken to Waterford University Hospital for examination.

Gardaí said the outcome of a post mortem will direct their inquiries.
