Following eight record-breaking years in London’s West End, the National Theatre’s acclaimed play War Horse will return to Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.

Based on the novel of the same name by Michael Morpurgo, War Horse tells the story of one man's journey through the First World War to be reunited with his beloved horse. The stage production features life-sized horses by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company.

International Acclaim

The show's return to Ireland follows its success in 11 countries, playing to over 7 million people.

Matt Forbes, the Puppetry Director for War Horse, spoke to Pat Kenny about the origin of the production’s centre piece.
