Tipperary pulled a cat out of the bag on Sunday after they staged a late comeback to draw with Cork 2-20 to 1-23 at Semple Stadium.

Shane Stapleton joined Monday's OTB AM and thinks the Premier County are still a work in progress.

"In the first half - they were desperate. Same as they were against Limerick, same as they were against Kilkenny in the league final," he told Ger. "I think they're slowly mutating towards the team that makes most sense.

"I think a lot of it was momentum too (Tipp's comeback) - that's an unquantifiable thing in hurling. Sometimes it's going against you and you're unable to turn the tap off.

"I was at Galway-Kilkenny so I was just watching the game on my computer - grand stream and all so there's no issue there!

"But, the stand out changes that I saw were Brendan Maher went wing-back and Ronan Maher went into midfield. And everyone was waxing lyrical about Ronan Maher in midfield in the league.

"I'd actually like to see a half-back line of Ronan Maher, Brendan Maher and Pádraic Maher in whatever formation you like - probably Paudie in the centre because Brendan plays centre-back for Borrisoleigh the whole time. I think any of the three - it's an exceptional half-back line.

"And Brendan deceptively has a lot more pace than a lot of people realise and he's a really good reader of the game.

"So, I think if they play as the half-back line - they're a bit more measured with their deliveries and he's normally very measured with them and I think that gives Tipp an unbelievable platform as well. From half-time on, that's what it was," he added.
