Daithí Regan joined Monday's OTB AM to reflect on Offaly's dominant 13 point win over Dublin in the National Hurling League at the weekend.

"The Faithful" county put in an exhilarating display to beat Pat Gilroy's side by 2-25 to 1-15 at GAA headquarters.

Optimism in the county was high going into the game and Regan is keen to see the momentum being carried into their next encounter against Limerick.

"It was a really good weekend to be honest with you - great to be in Croke Park," he told Ger Gilroy, "There was a really good Offaly crowd - there was so many former players up at it.

"There was a really good vibe coming into the game and Kevin (Martin) has a huge respect himself within the county and Kevin would have a huge respect amongst us, the guys that played with him, coming from Tullamore - he was the only guy coming from Tullamore on the Offaly team.

"He was a huge asset to us before we won the All-Ireland in 1994. Kevin came on to the scene in '93 and we hadn't really heard of him but he embedded himself in the culture immediately.

"He was a natural progression to move on to management - he has had success with Tullamore and he's been with Westmeath etc but Kevin understands our culture.

"Speaking to him on Saturday night - he's well-rounded and he accepts that this is one victory and what it has done is - the amount of people talking about Limerick visiting Tullamore next Sunday - it was just a huge swell of optimism - not even that that we'll beat Limerick but people are saying 'we just can't wait to go to it' - that's the first time in years we've had this so we're not getting ahead of ourselves in anyway," he added.
