According to a new survey four out of five women admit they do not shower every day and a third say they can go three days without washing their body.

Only 21% wash every day. Some 63% don’t remove make up after a night out. 

One in eight don’t even brush their teeth before bed.

Having interviewed a few people randomly on the street today, it seems a lot of people think it's acceptable to shower every two days, with one woman pointing out that our "body has lots of natural oils" that we shouldn't try hide.

But are some people too clean? I try to shower twice a day, which one man described as "a kind of fetish”.

I also spoke to Dr Maria Boyle, a washing expert from Trinity College Dublin who warned that women who overuse douching products could be in danger of getting Toxic Shock Syndrome.
