With Christmas around the corner, Susan has taken the opportunity to revisit two of the most compelling interviews from the past year.
In part one, Susan will be talking with American author Philipp Meyer. Philipp’s recent work has been met with much acclaim. His novel ‘American Rust’ received the Los Angeles Times Book Prize in 2009 and in 2010 Meyer was highlighted by the New Yorker as one of the most promising writers in America.
Then, ‘The Son’ was published in 2013. This followed up on the success of his first offering, becoming a finalist for the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.
Listen in this Sunday morning at 7am, as Susan delves into Philipp’s career, discovering what inspires him as a writer.
Then, in part two, Susan will be joined by Lee Child, author of the bestselling ‘Jack Reacher’ series.

Lee Child
Lee is among the most successful authors in the crime thriller genre today. Beginning with ‘Killing Floor’ in 1997 and most recently with this year’s ‘Personal’, he regularly tops the bestsellers list in the States.
He had quite an unorthodox path to his current profession, having first worked in Granada television for some time. However, he moved to US in the 1990s, where he has thrived as an author.
How does Lee assess his career to date? And what does the future hold? Susan will be exploring these issues with Lee on ‘Talking Books’ this Sunday morning at 7am.
