Munster have confirmed the province are hopeful of signing Springbok World Cup-winners Damian de Allende and RG Snyman.

Head coach Johann van Graan says, "We are in advanced discussions with both players, but there are no contracts signed at this stage."

De Allende and Snyman both had a hand in South Africa's 32-12 victory over England on Saturday morning that saw the Springboks claim William Webb Ellis trophy for the third time.

While remaining somewhat coy on the pair's potential arrival at Thomond Park, Van Graan says deals could be close, "We are confident there will be a commitment in the future, subject to conditions, but at this stage no contracts have been signed and we have nothing official to confirm."

De Allende played in seven games for the Springboks in Japan, scoring a pair of tries along the way.

6'9" lock Snyman was awarded man-of-the-match in their Pool B win over Canada and came off the bench in the final.

De Allende has recently been with the Super Rugby side, Stormers and will head to the Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan for a seasone before the mooted move to Munster.

Snyman already plies his trade in Japan, with the Honda Heat.

Meanwhile, Munster say winger Darren Sweetnam suffered a hamstring injury in training and will be treated by the medical department ahead of Saturday's Pro 14 meeting with Ulster at Thomond Park.

Alex Wootton is undergoing the return-to-play protocols having sustained a suspected head injury in last weekend's 33-23 win over the Cardiff Blues at the Arms Park.

Munster currently sit top of Conference B after five games.
