Republic of Ireland under-21 midfielder Conor Coventry has committed his future to West Ham by signing a new contract at the club.

Coventry's new deal will see him stay at the Hammers until the end of the 2023 season.

The 19-year-old has been on the books at the Premier League club since joining them at 10 and says he's "proud" to have secured a new contract.

He's captained West Ham's under-23s this season and also featured for the first-team in the Carabao Cup.

“It’s a very proud day for me and obviously something I’ve dreamed of since I came to the Club at ten-years-old. It’s something that I’ve worked towards for a really long time.

“When you come through, and you’re here every day from such a young age, it means more to you than you can really imagine. It means everything to me. I first came to the club as a kid and now I’ve become a man.

“Obviously the most important thing is the time – it’s another three-and-a-half years at the Club, so that gives me confidence that, in those years, I can break through as a first-team player.”

London-born Coventry has been a star performer for Stephen Kenny's Republic of Ireland under-21 side in their European Championship qualifying campaign, he's also been capped at under-17 and under-19 level.
