With Ireland a full week "opened" up, the signs look positive. Liam Fanning, the Deputy Head of Medicine and Professor of Immunovirology at UCC talks to Anton about how we were handling the spread of Omicron in an open society.

Other countries are approaching things very differently however. We check in with New Zealand, where Professor Michael Baker, professor of Public Health in the University of Otaga in Wellington tells us why New Zealand is continuing its approach of lockdown to keep the virus out, while German correspondent Thomas Sparrow explains why despite mass protests, the German government is continuing with their conservative approach on reopening.
