Dads wait outside maternity hospitals before their babies are born

If you have past a maternity hospital recently you might have noticed dads hanging around outside. Because of Covid 19 they have to wait until the very last minute to go in to see their baby been born.
Henry McKean spoke to dads outside (using a 2 metre microphone boom) and via Whatsapp and met Dr Rhona Mahony outside Holles Street, the National Maternity Hospital, (Dr Mahony is the Executive Director of the Women and Children’s Clinical Academic Directorate within Ireland East Healthcare Group.) This report includes life and joy at this difficult time. With contributions from dads including Liam Dunne speaking to Henry McKean via Whatsapp whose wife Michelle just gave birth to a baby girl at the Coombe in Dublin.
