This week we saw, what the promoters were calling -  the world’s first socially distanced gig take place in the UK.

Sam Fender played at the Virgin Money Unity Arena, a pop-up venue in Gosforth Park, Newcastle.

Fans in groups of up to five people watched the show from 500 separate raised metal platforms.

Mark was joined on this evening's edition of the Hard Shoulder by Pearse Doherty, ex member of the Saw Doctors – and more recently,  former site manager of Electric Picnic.
