New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has promised that five city-owned grocery stores will bring down prices for shoppers. On Monday, he announced the exact discount: 30% for some basic groceries, including vegetables, meat, bread and milk.

It got us thinking, should we follow New York's lead with state owned grocery stores?
