Richard O'Halloran is a father of four from Foxrock in Dublin.

The Irish aviation leasing executive travelled to China in February 2019 to meet with investors.

It was in a bid to resolve problems being encountered by the parent company of CALS Ireland.

Issues arose when the Chinese shareholder of the CALS Group in China was being investigated for his involvement in a crowd-fundraising scheme.

Authorities there want Richard to secure money which was raised as part of the scheme to buy an aircraft.

However, Mr O’Halloran joined the company a year after the events under investigation took place.

Reporter Josh Crosbie has been speaking to his family and with Dublin MEP Barry Andrews about the situation.
