Alan Murray is a voice familiar to Newstalk listeners, but perhaps not in a face to face scenario. But he has been dutifully and diligently reporting on affairs in Northern Ireland, particularly in relation to security and political matters, for many, many years.

As you may have heard Ivan mention last week on the show, Alan is set to retire at the end of this month and, given the centrality of Northern Ireland to Irish life, and to the on-going Brexit debate, we thought he’d be an ideal man to talk about how his career spanned many key years in the life of this island and he joined Ivan in Belfast.
