The Dáil will this week debate a motion to introduce tougher penalties for stealing family pets. Prices of puppies have sky-rocketed over lockdown as the high demand has in some cases caused people to resort to stealing dogs. 

Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín TD introduced the Bill and joined Kieran and Sandra who had her own dog Buster stolen from her in 2018.
