It has been confirmed that the US Vice-President Mike Pence will visit Ireland on the 6th and 7th September.
He will meet President Michael D Higgins, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Tanaiste Simon Coveney when he is here.
Meanwhile the small rural village of Tubbercurry in Co.Sligo are hopeful that the US Vice-President will visit the area.
Mike Pences grandfather Michael Richard Cawley hails from Doocastle, which is just a few miles outside Tubbercurry.
